A machine manufacturer from the Achterhoek region needed to move a 34-ton hydraulic press system to a production site in Belgium. The dimensions and weight made standard transport impossible. KWB designed and built a custom lowliner that kept the load within legal limits — without the need for a permit procedure.
The greatest challenge lay in the loading height. The installation required a driving height of 3.20 meters to pass under bridges and viaducts on the planned route. KWB solved this with a lowered center section with a floor height of 680 mm, combined with a pendle axle suspension that guarantees a stable platform even on uneven ground. The entire construction was calculated for a dynamic load of 1.4 times the static load — standard for this type of industrial transport.
The trailer was developed, built, and certified in six weeks. On the day of transport, the installation traveled without delay from the factory floor in Doetinchem to the production hall in Ghent. The client has since permanently added the lowliner to their fleet for similar moves within Europe.
