A Dutch contractor with several active construction projects in the Ruhr area required a reliable transport solution for heavy and oversized construction materials. KWB developed and delivered a custom semi-trailer that precisely meets the weight and dimension requirements of international corridors.
The assignment required an in-depth analysis of European transport regulations, loading capacity at project sites, and the specific requirements of German customs. Based on this, KWB designed an extendable low-loader with a reinforced floor construction, suitable for axle loads of up to 12 tons and a total loading length of 18 meters. The semi-trailer was manufactured entirely in-house and extensively tested on the KWB test track prior to delivery.
Thanks to the close cooperation between the KWB engineering team and the client’s logistics department, the entire process — from the initial technical consultation to the first loading on-site — was completed within twelve weeks. The semi-trailer now operates daily on the Netherlands–Germany route and serves as a permanent link in the supply chain for the construction projects.
